New week! This one should be a bit more routine.
If I were a regular at my work’s cafeteria (which I guess I am – haha), this would be “the usual” for me. I was thrilled to find apple cinnamon oatmeal available this morning – it’s usually scraping the bottom of the barrel by the time I make it downstairs, and I’m lucky if there’s even plain oatmeal left.
Despite the fact I eat breakfast on the late side, I got into the habit of eating lunch pretty early back when I used to buy my lunch every day – the cafeteria gets mobbed around 12, so I’d always try to beat the crowd. Since my body got used to eating lunch early, I’m usually hungry by quarter to 12 or so. The eggplant parm from the previous night’s dinner reheated like a dream, by the way – it was possibly even better than the night before.
I wasn’t really hungry again by 1:00…I was, however, bored. I pulled these out and munched on them throughout the afternoon.
Jeff’s company (I feel weird saying that because we technically work for the same company…he works for a different part of the company, though) had breakfast and lunch catered again, so he wasn’t hungry for dinner. I decided to repeat my egg sandwich from Sunday morning, but bulk it up to make it more filling…no regrets; it was scrumptious. I realize that kale salad is a bit of an odd choice to go with an egg sandwich, but it sounded good.
As usual, I started to feel snacky while watching TV after dinner. I wanted to keep things on the healthy side, though – when I eat garbage right before bed, I tend to feel a bit gross. I settled on a sliced apple dipped in some almond butter, and shared with Jeff & Grooby. I headed to bed around 11, successfully avoiding the Ben & Jerry’s in the freezer.
